Parcelforce was founded in 1990 from a delivery subsection of the then government owned Royal Mail. To this day it is still owned by the Royal Mail and operates from it's headquarters in Milton Keynes. Interestingly, the parent company of Parcelforce (Royal Mail Group LTD) also own part of GLS (General Logistics Systems). GLS are one delivery network that operate throughout Europe and Internationally. In our experience, parcels sent using Parcelforce can have less customs problems and hold-ups, primarily because the same parent company controls the delivery company from when your package is collected, right through to its European or International destination. Extra insurance is available for some services,  but not for others.  This is made very clear at the time of booking.  We would also advise that you check our prohibited items page before booking your collection to make sure your goods are eligible for travel on an insured service.  If your goods appear on this list, we cannot process any claim for damage.  We are also unable to deliver to PO box addresses.  Please contact us via the contact us form if you have a delivery address with a PO box in it.

All parcels sent through any of our couriers will suffer volumetric sizing. This means that our website will calculate the volumetric size of your package and compare it to the actual weight and then generate a price for whichever is greater.
